Two NAIOP Spotlight Awards go to Cashman Equipment

Friday, May 8, 2009 (Las Vegas, Nevada) The 12th Annual National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) Spotlight Awards, held at the Venetian Hotel and Casino, brought together more than 600 attendees from the commercial real estate industry to recognize the exceptional commercial real estate projects and professionals of 2008. Cashman Equipment received two awards for their new Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) corporate headquarters on St. Rose Parkway in Henderson, NV.

Spotlight Award entries are submitted for project and industry awards, including 16 different project categories ranging from master-planned office and industrial parks to common area interiors. Winners were chosen by a panel of industry leaders, based on a list of criteria provided to applicants before submitting their entries. NAIOP received more than 70 submissions during this year’s call for entries.

Cashman Equipment, Nevada’s Caterpillar dealership, partnered with SH Architecture and Burke & Associates to construct the company’s new corporate headquarters, soon to be the state’s largest industrial LEED Gold designated building. The facility received two awards from NAOIP. MaryKaye Cashman, chairman and CEO of Cashman Equipment, accompanied Curt Carlson, Director of Design at SH Architecture, to the stage to receive the Honor Award for Special Purpose Industrial Building for EPG/Power Solutions. Kevin Burke, president and CEO of Burke & Associates, was then with Carlson to accept the Honor Award for Office Interiors: Public Spaces for Cashman’s Corporate Headquarters.

Cashman commented, “Accomplishments of this magnitude are only possible when dedicated companies like SH, Burke, and Cashman diligently work together to construct buildings that are beautiful, practical, and sustainable.” Cashman is exceptionally pleased with the new headquarters, and expects the buildings to suit the needs of the company and their customers for at least 40 years.
