Wastewater Treatment Technology

Wastewater Solutions For Mines, Landfills & More

Cashman Equipment now offers you a wastewater treatment service in conjunction with HTX Solutions, a privately-held Australian company with patented solutions for complex wastewater challenges. These solutions use electrochemistry to turn contaminated wastewater into water that meets Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards or client-specified water quality targets.
The Advanced ElectroChemical and Catalytically Enhanced Oxidation process offers reliable, safe, predictable water treatment outcomes that are also low in capital expenditures and operating expenditures. The treatment technology addresses:
  • Suspended Solids
  • Turbidity
  • Emulsions
  • Hazardous Organics
  • Bacteria
  • Viruses
  • Coliforms
  • Heavy Metals
  • Anions
The wastewater treatment service from Cashman and HTX is an on-site, turn-key, mobile, relocatable, and fully scalable wastewater treatment service with a small operational footprint. This “water as service” business model allows customers to pay per volume of wastewater treated without any capital investment required. Additionally, the service improves water use and management logistics, offering zero liquid waste stream, benign solid waste (<1 % of water volume treated), and eliminating costly third party treating and disposal charges.

Mining Wastewater

Mine-affected wastewater can be cost-effectively treated at the mine site for reuse or safe environmental discharge versus storage.
  • Removes problematic constituents including: Aluminum, Antimony, Arsenic, Barium, Boron, Chromium, Cobalt, Copper, Cyanide, Iron, Lead, Magnesium, Manganese, Mercury, Molybdenum, Nickel, Selenium, Silica, Zinc & TDS components including Sulfate
  • Valuable metal recovery from wastewater or slimes, including, but not limited to; gold (98%), silver (97%), lithium, cobalt, and copper – creating additional revenue sources or offsetting treatment costs
  • Treatment products are clean water and non-hazardous sludge suitable for disposal in landfill
  • Reduced environmental liability associated with closed mines, including Acid Mine Drainage remediation = improved social license and corporate image
  • Viable alternative to evaporators – lower cost and water not lost to local watershed

Landfill Wastewater

Leachate can be cost-effectively treated at the landfill site – no need to transport leachate to a municipal or third party wastewater treatment facility.

  • Removes problematic leachate constituents including: BOD/COD, ammonia, chlorides, PFCs, macro inorganic compounds, heavy metals, xenobiotic organic compounds such as aromatic hydrocarbons, phenols, pesticides, coliforms, viruses, suspended & dissolved solids
  • Treatment products are clean water and non-hazardous sludge suitable for disposal in landfill
  • Mitigate environmental compliance concerns - renders leachate suitable for discharge to WWTP, land application, re-use for on-site dust suppression, or safe environmental discharge
  • Potential to utilize landfill generated gas to power the HTX / Cashman Leachate Treatment unit
  • Simplified treatment process… no activated sludge or anaerobic lagoons systems needed
  • Removes the need for managing a biological process for leachate treatment that has a high energy demand
  • No concentrated liquid waste stream or equipment fouling as seen in treatment options utilizing RO membranes
  • No concentrated waste stream or high energy costs as seen in treatment options utilizing evaporators
HTX Solutions, with partners like Cashman Equipment, is leading a global paradigm shift in water and wastewater treatment with their Advanced ElectroChemical and Catalytically Enhanced Oxidation process. These technologies are the driving force behind HTX’s closed-loop water recycling service, which enables a cost-effective process for turning contaminated water and wastewater into water ready for reuse or release into the environment — ending the cycle of fresh water to wastewater so common in industrial water usage.
