Cashman Equipment Acquires Bently Tribology

Tuesday, January 22, 2013 (Las Vegas, Nevada) – As part of their long-term plan to expand their fluids analysis services for customers, Cashman Equipment has acquired Bently Tribology Services NV, Inc., Minden NV, a division of Bently Enterprises, Inc. The purchase will allow Cashman Equipment’s Fluids Analysis Laboratory to provide more comprehensive fluids testing, including specialty fuel sample testing such as simulated distillation, cetane number measurement, biodiesel blend verification, etc.

Bently Tribology Services, a company Cashman Equipment has been associated with for over five years, tests, analyze,s and provides interpretations and recommendations for oil and fuel samples from manufacturing, laboratories, utility, chemical, and transportation companies. The acquisition of Bently Tribology will ultimately allow Cashman to broaden their customer base opportunity beyond the Nevada construction, mining, and earthmoving customers.

“We’re excited to be branching out with our fluids services,” said Robin DeVisser, Cashman Equipment’s Fluids Analysis Lab Manager. “This will truly make the lab a one-stop-shop for all our customers.”

She went on to explain that the lab will be gaining all of Bently’s laboratory equipment including laboratory benches and supplies, as well as instruments to perform advanced fuel sample testing. DeVisser also noted that Cashman will assume testing and processing of all samples previously performed by Bently Tribology.

“This is just another step in our journey to expand our fluids testing services,” stated David R. Griffin, Cashman Equipment’s General Manager of Technical Services. “A few months ago, we received Caterpillar’s Scheduled Oil Sampling (SOS) Services Dealer certification and renewed our ISO 17025 accreditation. Now, we are exponentially expanding our fluids services, after which, we will expand our facilities.”

Griffin then revealed that Cashman Equipment is in the early stages of expanding the Reno-based fluids analysis laboratory. The company currently plans to have the lab renovation and expansion completely functional by the end of the second  quarter of 2013.
