According to the Northern Nevada Business Weekly, mining has had a significant impact on Nevada’s employment growth. The industry, which accounts for 1% of all the employment in NV, and 5% of the state’s economic production, generated a whopping 14% of the jobs added to Nevada’s economy in the past 12 months. Plus, the mining industry accounted for a full third of the jobs that have been added since the recession officially ended in June 2009… way to go, mining industry!
