• CAT CERTIFIED POWERTRAIN REBUILD (CPT)... a complete rebuild of the powertrain to strict Cat guidelines
• PLUS... PLUS includes optional services like hydraulic, cab, or undercarriage work, and may be added to any rebuild except the CCR

Cat Certified Powertrain Rebuild

The Cat Certified Powertrain Rebuild covers the engine, transmission, radiator, torque converter, transfer gear box, universal joints and drive shafts, differentials, final drives, brakes, powertrain electrical switches, sensors and sending units plus all powertrain electronic control modules and software including a new engine wiring harness. Cashman Powertrain Rebuilds follow Cat rebuild guidelines but may not include all Caterpillar engineering updates.

Cashman Equipment Custom Rebuild

A Cashman Equipment Custom Rebuild allows the customer to tell us exactly what they would like rebuilt or repaired. An excellent example of a custom powertrain rebuild is one that may include the engine and drive axles but does not include the transmission and torque converter. The Rebuild Process

1. Machine Selections
High-hour, older machines that are experiencing frequent downtime but still have a solid rebuildable core are prime second life candidates.

2. Inspection/Evaluation
This vital step is a thorough process during which we develop a customized rebuild plan and cost estimate. The specific needs of your machine or powertrain are determined through a comprehensive evaluation, which includes fluid analysis, careful visual inspections, and review of maintenance/fluids analysis services.

3. Component Disassembly
Once the rebuild plan is established, your machine or powertrain will be completely disassembled.

• Frames, Brakes, Final Drives, Axles
• Bearings, Electronic Systems, Radiator, Transmission
• Engine, Undercarriage, Hydraulic Systems, Steering
• Operator's Station, ROPS

4. Reconditioning
This phase of the process addresses equipment needs not typically included in an overhaul. For example, frames are examined and, if necessary, they are straightened, welded, and reinforced.

5. Engineering Updates
During reassembly, critical improvements made to this machine model since original manufacturing are incorporated.

6. Reassembly
All critical torques, clearances, and pressure settings will be maintained and recorded during careful reassembly of your machine or powertrain by Cashman's Cat certified technicians. Our 5 Star Contamination Control certification guarantees the minimization of dirt, dust, and other contaminants that can lead to additional downtime due to catastrophic failure.

7. Performance Analysis Testing
Quality control is integral to both rebuild programs. Therefore rigorous testing is conducted at several stages, and is concluded with a thorough dynamometer (dyno) testing for engines and transmissions. Among the tests routinely performed are turbocharger boost, throttle response, stall speed rpm, transmission and steering clutch response, and hydraulic and pilot relief valve pressures.
